Lycabettus Hill is the highest point in the center of Athens. The Cable Car (formerly referred to as the "Lycabettus funicular railway") connects Kolonaki with the summit of Lycabettus Hill. It has two carriages and can carry 34 people in each. The frequency of the rides is every half hour from 9 a.m. until 2:30 a.m., and during peak hours, every ten minutes. Many people ascend Lycabettus Hill to enjoy the 277-meter-high view, dine at the ORIZONTES LYCABETTUS RESTAURANT, or visit the Church of Saint George. At the top of Lycabettus Hill, especially when the sun sets, you can enjoy the mesmerizing panoramic view of the Acropolis and all of Athens, making it a favorite destination for both children and adults.
